The Story of an Artist

Kevin Bishop is a European expressionist painter who has travelled extensively and lived in London, Paris, Dublin, Zurich & NYC.  Experience of diverse cultures, and exposure to a wide range artistic techniques, continues to fuel Kevin’s creative process.  Moving to Springs (NY) in 2015 with a studio just three doors down from Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock’s studio on Accabonac Harbor, Kevin was inspired by their freedom of expression, the ever changing light, and intimate daily interaction with nature.

Working primarily on floors and tables, Kevin draws upon wide study of abstract and expressionist work to explore forms of expression that stir his mind, heart, and soul—minutely poured lines, drip painting, lissajous figures, and painterly strokes all feature strongly in his work.

In NY, Kevin was represented by The White Room Gallery. His work has been shown at art fairs in the Hamptons, NY, Miami, Bangkok, and here in Austin where he has working studios both at Canopy and at home in Onion Creek.

Since moving to Austin in 2023, Kevin has continued to develop his passion for nature and creative diversity: “My studio is my soul cave: the place where my creativity is unleashed to make beautiful pieces that grace any room and lift the spirit.”
